Mark Raborn

All skill levels are welcome; however, it’s probably best to at least know a couple of rolls. Nothing more is required, except a banjo.

Some of the segments titles we will cover include: Tablature basics; Almost painless music theory as it applies to banjo; Fret-board geography, Licks and lines, Tricks and treats; Tunes and tales and, finally, ‘To capo, or not to capo, that is the question’. We’ll address the three primary styles of 3-finger playing as well as basic instrument set-up. There will be oodles of tunes to choose from.

Each participant will receive handouts of tablature and relevant work materials. Each participant will also be given sound files with tunes we work on, both slow and medium tempo, along with the corresponding tablature. It’s like have 3-6 months of lessons in one day!
