Anna Yanova-Cattoor is a singer and songwriter, born and raised in Bulgaria, now living in St. Louis, MO.
At the early age of 5 Anna expressed desire to start learning about music, so she began solfege, voice and piano lessons with the big voices of Bulgaria – Camellia Todorova, Silvia Katzarova and Violetta Onikian.
At the age of 10 Anna had her first debut singing on national TV with the showcasing young talent music show “Kato Lavovete”. This is also when she had her first experience recording in a professional music studio. At the age of 11 she released a CD with 5 songs, professionally recorded and produced in a studio.
When she was 13, Anna was chosen to perform on the stage of “Rock in Rila” festival, Bulgaria, in front of 20 000 people. She also performed on the same festival the following 5 years in a row.
Inspired to follow her dream, Anna moved to Los Angeles in September of 2010 and took the next step in her musical career by enrolling in the “Vocals in Performance” Program at Musicians Institute, Hollywood. She had the great honor to work with industry professionals Coreen Sheehan, Anika Paris, Charissa Nicole, Bernard Baur, Adrian Park, Marko DeSantis, Bobby Borg, Rick Torres and many others.
In 2011, Anna was selected to sing with the “Artist for Peace” choir and on November 1st, performed at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles, sharing the stage with Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Eric Benet, Michael Stone and many others.
On March 17th 2012, Anna graduated from the “Vocals in Performance” Program at Musicians Institute and was honored by the faculty and staff at MI with the “OUTSTANDING ARTIST OF THE YEAR” award. The ceremony was held at The Wiltern Theater, Los Angeles.
Since her graduation from MI in 2012, Anna has been teaching voice constantly. She had the privilege of learning from some of the best vocal coaches in the industry, including Coreen Sheehan, who wrote the curriculum for vocal technique at MI, also author of “Rock Vocals and is one of the authors of “Five Star Music Makeover”.
In 2013 Anna started working with EyeLevel Entertainment and was featured on various shows on their online TV channel, as well as on CBS’s “God’s Party”, lead by Dyan Cannon. In April 2013 she released her first album of original music, called “Up!”. “Up!” is very positive, fun and has powerfully deep, raw and honest messages. The music is in a singer songwriter genre and has elements of pop, folk and soul.
In 2013, Anna and her husband Jared created their own band, called “Two Cities One World”. Their debut EP came out in February of 2014, only 10 months after Anna’s debut album “Up!”.
In the summer of 2016, Anna and Jared toured all around Bulgaria playing 26 concerts in less than 3 months. During the tour they won 7 awards at a music contest, called “Pop Rock Fest Nessebar” including the “Grand Prix” and “Best Original Song”.
At the moment Anna is performing in the St. Louis area, working on the songs for the next album as well as working as a session vocalist and a voice teacher.
