Mozingo Music Fine Arts Academy

The Mozingo Music Fine Arts Academy provides St. Louis Metro Area Students a unique environment in which to enrich their fine arts education and broaden their performance opportunities and experience.

MMFAAThe concept of the Mozingo Music Fine Arts Academy grew out of our desire to provide an opportunity and a level of support necessary to challenge, motivate and empower students to fully explore their interest in the arts. To bring our vision of MMFAA to life, Mozingo Music invited Wendi Dicken to develop our curriculum, ensuring it would be available to – but not limited to – home-schooled youth. Through her efforts, MMFAA has offered classes since the Fall of 2011.

Will I be expected to sing and act? Yes, please come prepared to sing at least 16 measures of music from memory. Music selection can be from any genre you choose. Please bring sheet music with you, as an accompanist is present at all auditions. All auditionees will also be asked to read a short excerpt from a script, so that we can get an idea of their acting ability.

What should I bring with me? Bring your sheet music, a one-page resume that lists your previous singing, performing, acting and dancing experience and a headshot photo. (The headshot does not need to be professional).

How long will my audition last? Each audition shouldn’t last more than 5-7 minutes. We are booking auditionees back-to-back so please be on time for your scheduled audition. If you miss your time, there are no guarantees that we can reschedule your audition.

What should I wear? If you are scheduled for a singing audition, please look nice. Dress clothing is not required but jeans are not preferred. If you are scheduled for a dance callback, please wear something comfortable that you can move around in with ease.

After the auditions are finished, when will I be notified about being given a part in one of your musicals? Everyone who auditions will be notified via phone or email within one week of auditions.

What if I am beginner with no experience? Don’t worry, we welcome performers of all ages and all experience levels! Bring a friend and join in the fun!
